About us
The firm known as John B Kevill & Son was founded by John Bertram Kevill in 1919 and initially traded from premises in High Street, Chorley.
Subsequently continued by John's son, John Augustine Kevill, the firm, supported by partner John Gerald Brown, expanded its client base and emphasis to embrace all aspects of law. The firm moved to its current premises in St Thomas's Road in the early 1960s and has since shortened its name to Kevills.

Peter Singleton, Senior PartnerPeter qualified in 1974 after taking his Law Society exams and completing Articles at a two-partner firm in Preston where he trained in all aspects of law, including conveyancing, matrimonial and criminal. Peter joined Kevills in 1975, becoming Partner in 1978, and his areas of specialism are conveyancing and commercial law. Away from his desk, Peter enjoys spending time with his family who are dotted around the country, as well as watching sports, going to the gym, walking, and going to concerts and the theatre. |

Vicky Nicholson, PartnerAfter graduating from the University of Central Lancashire and attending Chester Law College, Vicky qualified in 1996 and worked at a Preston-based solicitors before joining Kevills in 1997, becoming partner in 2002. Vicky specialises in the area of family law and is accredited to the Law Society Family Law Panel. Away from her desk, Vicky enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as travel, reading and art. |
Andrew John Foden, Consultant SolicitorAndrew qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 having completed Articles in Preston, Article to the Under Sheriff of Lancashire. He then practised with a firm in Wigan. Andrew studied at what is now University of Central Lancashire, the College of Law Chester and also graduated with a Master of Laws Degree from the University of Leicester. Andrew specialises in Employment Law, Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and also Road Traffic Law. He has also undertaken Prosecution work for a Government Department. He has considerable advocacy experience including having represented lay and commercial clients before the Employment Tribunal, the Magistrates, Court, the County and High Court, various Coroners Courts throughout England and also at numerous Public Inquiries. Outside the office Andrew enjoys spending time with his young children. When not occupied with his children he enjoys ski-ing, motorcycling, fishing and the odd game of squash. When time permits he also enjoys watching Preston North End! |

Jane Talbot, Probate ExecutiveJane is a highly experienced Probate Executive, having worked at solicitors throughout her 15-year career. Specialising in wills and the administration of estates, Jane has been at Kevills for three years. Away from her desk, Jane enjoys spending time with her family, as well as travel and walking. |

Lucy Howarth, SolicitorLucy is a solicitor and undertook her training with Kevills. She studied at Sheffield Hallam University and continued her studies at the University of Central Lancashire, where she completed the Professional Skills Course. Lucy assists Simon Robinson with his case load and has a wide and varied knowledge of civil litigation cases. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury lawyers (APIL). Away from her desk, Lucy enjoys travel, skiing and socialising with friends and family. |
